Built-In Pantry
Originally, this tiny kitchen had an awkward area - it neither seemed to belong to the kitchen nor the open living space. I proposed making this area a built-in pantry that would give the kitchen everything it was missing. The top cabinet holds three large pull-out drawers. The aluminum roll-up door has storage for large appliances and an electrical outlet. A pull-out butcher block below provides additional counter space. Pull out the counter, set up an appliance and it becomes a secondary work station away from the rest of the kitchen. Two utensil drawers provide the only drawers in this kitchen and an area for trash and recycling bins are hidden inside the cabinet. A narrow pull-out drawer for cans make use of the space not taken by the trash/recycling. Adjoining this new storage, additional shelves were built into the wall hidden behind a magnetic chalkboard.
